Watch Out, World, He's Got Wheels

Never in a million years did I think I would put my 2-year-old on a bike and have him ride off into the sunset on the very first try. But I should know by now to NEVER underestimate our boy. He is, well, beyond words :-)

We got this hand-me-down bike that was our nephew Shane's a while back. I guess I didn't think Miles was big enough/ready for this yet. But for some reason we decided to slap the training wheels on it, put a helmet on his big melon and plop him on the bike yesterday. And HOLY COW were we ever blown away! He took to it like a pro from the very first moment. He peddled himself around our entire block with minimal help from us. Didn't fall off once and even turned corners by himself. It was seriously one of the best moments I have ever had as a parent...it was so exciting! I saw Grant fighting back tears (don't deny it, honey!). I was in heaven. I kept saying that there is nothing this kid can't do, and do well. He is amazing. So much fun!

Here are some photos and a video from his first bike ride ever!! (The video is a bit grainy at first because I'm zoomed in really close.)

I don't doubt it, but pretty amazing still, we wouldn't even try it until 3-4, but maybe sooner?

Look at that huge smile on his little face! :) He should be quite proud of himself. That's great!

I'm impressed! Kira is almost 4 and this year she FINALLY got the hang of how to ride a bike!

Very impressive! Way to go Miles! Poor Aiden's short short legs can't reach the pedals on any of his tricycles/bikes so he can't even practice pedaling.
